Fanzara is a small municipality of Moorish origin that is located in Castellon Region of Alto Mijares, 35km from Castellon De La Plana. The city is in a small valley at 239m altitude, surrounded on one side by the mountains and on the other side by the Mijares river. Fanzara can be reached by following th CV-20 road that links Onda to Montanejos.
MIAU – Museo Inacabado de Arte Urbano – the Unfinished Museum Of Urban Art, a project started in 2014 is constantly changing and growing offering a unique experience for the visitors. Big and small artwork, lasting pieces of art, murals and sculptures are waiting for you to be surprised, and if you are lucky, yu can hear cellinst playing in the square or attend a conference of film screening. One of the main attraction of the Unfinished Museum is the constant change and evolution reminding everybody about the importance of art in our life.

Iglesia parroquial dedicada a Nuestra Señora de la Asunción - Parish church
The “Iglesia parroquial dedicada a Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” (the parish Church dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption) was recently restored but the inscription on the facade indicates that it ws completed in 1682 following the prevailing artistic Baroque style at the time: large pillars and pilasters (an architectural element used to give the appearance of a supporting column with only an ornamental function) supported by transverse arches, very highlighted cornices
Ermita del Santo Sepulcro
The “Ermita del Santo Sepulcro” (Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre) is placed on a hill overlooking the whole town. Here lies the Holy Sepulchre all year, except the local festivities, tht begin on the second Sunday of October in gratitude for the end of the harvest period. The building started in the XVIII-th century and was finished in the XIX. Between 1914-1915 was restored to perfect condition.
The festivities in honor of San Antonio are celebrated in Fanzara the last weekend in January and the traditional festival have as common element animals and fire.
Fiesta del Salvador
Also known as the Fiesta de los Devotos ( Feast of Devotees) the Fiesta del Salvador is celebrated on the first Saturday of April. It is a popular pilgrimage to the hermitage of El salvador, in the municipality of Onda and it ends with a lunch and felowship meal between Fanzara and Onda population.
Fiesta del Corazón de Jesús
The first weekend of July is a traditional holiday with procession and mass held in honor of the Hearth Of Jesus. The holiday is complete with dance in the square attended by hundreds of neighbors and strangers, usually people of the region.
Fiestas del Santo Sepulcro
The village festivities are celebrated in October, after the arrival of autumn. There are several full day events, from religious celebrations, processions, bullfights, dances, cultural and sporting events.
