Food Diary 10.07.2019

I am on the last day of my 72 hour fast, have about 6 hours to go until I will break fast. So far was not that tragically bad, I was occasionally feeling hungry for short period of time, was not dizzy and didn’t had any headache either. I drank water, and a “cube” broth for salt replacement, a coffee with only one sweetener and no milk. I am looking forward to break the fast, my planned meal is 2 boiled eggs, a little bit of meat and some butter on top.

Breakfast for husband today:

2 eggs, 4 slices of bacon, 6 cherry tomatoes

😀 he doesn’t like runny yolk so the eggs look kind’a tortured 😀

Notes:

I noticed a wery strange trend here in Spain (maybe it’s just the area we live in…): you go to several shops and all of them seem super full with a variety of foods. But once you start buying, you realize that a lot of food is pretty much the same in different package.  There are certain food types that are the worst. One of them is bacon.  We go to shop in about 4 or 5 different shops, and 4 of them carry the same, pretty much low fat bacon. Doesn’t really matter what brand you choose the result will be the same. So far we found only 2 stores that are fairly far away that have “more bacony bacon” and not the meaty version.

Bacon is not the worst example. So called breakfast sausage is the worst. In stores, generally there is a large cooled section with these abominations, they are cheap and I think they are nothing but plastic and cardboard, and more importantly all brands taste exactly the same. Colors may vary, but that’s it. You go to the next store, same large availability, you would think “variety” but you better pick the cheapest, it won’t matter.  Of course these sausages are not a healthy variation, we only buy them when the budget is low and instead of strawing I still prefer to eat something. Overall the taste is “acceptable” on all these saussages, what bothers me most is that I cannot find 2-3 different tastes, it’s like it’s coming from the very same factory, very same recipe.

Dinner- and for me the first food after 72h fast

The eggs were a tad bit runnier than I usually like but at this stage it didn´t really mattered. It was one of the most delicious foods I have in a long time!!!   Maybe I should have put slightly less meat to the plate, the last 2-3 bites were in the category of ¨to much”.
